Composite Circularity Lab

Comprehensive solutions for the circular economy using composite materials

Since 2024, our team at the Composite Circularity Lab (CCL) has been developing new concepts to transform the fibre composites industry towards a circular economy. For various sectors, such as the wind energy sector, the aerospace industry and the automotive industry, we are developing circular strategies comprising the elements of reuse, repair, refurbishment, remanufacturing, repurposing and recycling (the R6 strategy). Through various research projects and interdisciplinary teaching, we focus in particular on the implementation of ‘repurpose’ demonstrator solutions, which we aim to translate into applications suitable for series production. In addition, we develop sustainable materials solutions with a reduced carbon footprint for various sectors.
