LeoBots Leipzig
The LeoBots – the robotics team at HTWK Leipzig!
We are a student working group at HTWK Leipzig and currently consist of around 15 members who are passionate about technology. Our main goal is to develop and build our own robots entirely through our own student efforts, which we then use to compete in the international RoboCup Rescue Challenge against teams from all over the world.
Interdisciplinary and beginner-friendly
Robotics is a team sport! To tackle complex challenges such as automatic environmental mapping or grasping objects in disaster scenarios, we take a strongly interdisciplinary approach. We welcome students from all disciplines – whether it’s computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or media informatics. The most important thing is that you don’t need any prior knowledge! We’re absolutely beginner-friendly. We’ll teach you everything you need to know to work on our robots.
What’s in it for you?
As well as gaining plenty of practical experience, you’ll also benefit directly from your involvement with us in your degree programme: your involvement with the LeoBots can count towards your Studium Generale credits. Many tasks relating to our robot can also be integrated perfectly as official project work within your modules.
Fancy getting a taste of hands-on work and becoming part of the team?
Then pop along to our next meeting: we always meet on Wednesdays at 5.00 pm on Wächterstraße (Wienerbau) in room WI113.
Web-O-Troniker HTWK Leipzig
The Web-O-Troniker are a student working group based at the Wiener-Bau who, alongside their studies, work on projects relating to IT, computer engineering, web design and multimedia. In principle, any student at the Faculty of Engineering can join; no prior knowledge is required.
