Understanding artificial intelligence, experiencing computer science and developing their own solutions: at the ‘Machine Learning’ workshop, twelve highly gifted children join forces with the RoboCreators to discover the technologies of tomorrow, whilst receiving targeted support and being challenged.
Leipzig, 27 June 2026 – The RoboCreators, in collaboration with the Association for Gifted Children in Central Germany (Verein für hochbegabte Kinder Mitteldeutschland e.V.), are hosting a special workshop on the topic of ‘machine learning’. Twelve highly motivated participants will have the opportunity to learn about modern methods of artificial intelligence and put them into practice.
This event plays a special role within the RoboCreators’ programme. It serves as a showcase for the RoboCreators’ programme of excellence, which is specifically designed to provide targeted support for exceptionally high-achieving and inquisitive young people. The focus is on providing individual support to children and young people with special talents, whose interests and abilities often extend beyond the scope of standard educational provision.
In the workshop, participants explore the fundamentals of machine learning and gain insights into how modern AI systems work. Complex concepts are explained in an accessible way through hands-on experiments and age-appropriate applications. At the same time, these young talents are encouraged to develop their own solutions and further hone their analytical skills.
A particular focus of the event is on computer science education. Participants are introduced to fundamental concepts in computer science – from data processing and algorithmic thinking to the principles of modern artificial intelligence. The aim is to spark an early enthusiasm for computer science and to develop existing talents in a targeted manner. Gifted children in particular benefit from challenging tasks that combine creative problem-solving, logical thinking and scientific inquiry.
“Highly gifted children need learning opportunities that not only nurture them but also challenge them. With our programme of excellence, we are creating a space where curiosity, creativity and technical understanding come together,” explains the RoboCreators team.
The partnership with the Association for Gifted Children in Central Germany (Verein für hochbegabte Kinder Mitteldeutschland e.V.) makes it possible to tailor the content specifically to the participants’ needs. This creates a learning environment that offers both in-depth subject knowledge and sufficient scope for participants’ own ideas.
Through events such as this workshop, the RoboCreators are helping to foster technical and digital skills from an early age. As well as imparting knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence, the project specifically strengthens young people’s computer science education, thereby supporting, in the long term, the development of future specialists in the fields of computer science, digitalisation and engineering.
