ZUBAT
A forward-looking, Wake-Up-based opportunistic IoT platform for the early detection of forest fires
The collaboration between Professor Krondorf’s and Professor Derbel’s research groups aims to use ZUBAT to improve the efficiency and response time of early forest fire detection through an advanced, wireless sensor network.
Funding: BMBF/VDI
Project duration: 01/2025 – 12/2028
FUBE
Lightweight wireless sensors for space-based wildlife monitoring
The collaboration between Professor Krondorf’s and Professor Derbel’s research groups aims to develop an energy-efficient satellite-based positioning system that uses lightweight sensors to enable, amongst other things, the monitoring of wildlife.
Funding: BMBF/VDI
Project duration: 09/2022 – 08/2026
