Teaching
Supervision of project work, Bachelor’s and Master’s theses
Selection of supervised projects:
- Development of a ‘lost’ sensor embedded in concrete for the metrological determination of capillary pressure in plastic concrete.
- Development of application software for a CNC-controlled extraction device for the metrological determination of the elongation at break of concrete.
- Development of a microcontroller-controlled sensor node application for a cascade monitoring system for use in geozones prone to deformation.
- Development of a wireless sensor application for use in electrically conductive, highly damped media.
- Development of a functional demonstration model for a CNC-controlled extraction device, as well as the implementation and commissioning of all individual functional components.
- Development of a prototype test environment for the metrological determination of cell voltage in a battery stack using specialised IC solutions.
- Development of a test environment for the metrological determination of different pressure values in a plastic medium, as well as the implementation of data transmission via an RFID communication interface.
- Analysis and revision of universal user software.
- Prototype implementation of various sensor principles for initial movement detection in geozones prone to deformation.
- Development of a data transmission system for the storage, transmission and processing of measurement data from a sensor cluster into a central database, whilst taking into account low acquisition costs and installation effort.
Research
Projects
- SIMPeL | Development of a seismic interferometry method for detecting the movement of large earth masses in post-open-cast mining landscapes
- senod+ | Development of sensor nodes for a cascade monitoring system for use in geozones prone to deformation
- smart grains–density | This preliminary research aims to investigate how the effects of the damping and frequency detuning characteristics of electromagnetic waves can be translated into permanent relative density and moisture monitoring for geotechnical applications.
