ISAD e.V. is a German association of manufacturers and users of radio equipment in the short range device range (9KHz to 246 GHz) that is active throughout Europe and has been campaigning at national and international level for the preservation of the current and future use of the frequency bands in accordance with REC 70-03 since it was founded in 2001.
The core task of the association is the proactive co-design of EN standards in cooperation with all important organisations and institutions such as the EC / ETSI / CEPT / DKE and BNetzA - especially with regard to harmonisation and conformity. The concerns of the member companies have priority in all ISAD activities and negotiations and are the focus of the association's daily work.
ISAD is currently dealing with the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) Art. 3.3 / 4, in particular 3.3 d/e/f and i. The aforementioned articles of the Radio Equipment Directive affect all radio solutions that connect to a network in any form or require a software update after being placed on the market. The EU's decision to adopt legal acts in this regard will have a corresponding impact and possibly far-reaching consequences for the development of the entire radio industry and the corresponding EN standards.
