The test series will take place from 30/09/2021 to 19/11/2021. The Recovics exohand will then be thoroughly tested for its suitability for use.
With the Exohand from the HTWK founding team Recovics, people with hand and finger therapy can also carry out some of their therapy independently at home. The newly developed Exohand can be put on like a glove. Thanks to its sophisticated precision mechanics, it supports therapeutic movements of the hand and fingers. As in conventional physiotherapy, the exohand performs a continuous, passive movement of the long fingers and thumb, whereby the fingers can be moved selectively. An app records the user's treatment progress, which can then be analysed by therapists or doctors.
To ensure that the Exohand fulfils the necessary requirements and that measurement errors and risks can be ruled out, the product is now to be examined in a series of tests with the support of patients, therapists and medical staff. Only once the tests have been successfully completed and the product meets the requirements will it be launched on the market.
Test subjects wanted for exohand tests!
Why do we want to test the device?
As part of a usability study (in accordance with 62366-1), we want to test the device to investigate whether it fulfils the requirements in terms of user interfaces, use and risks as well as effectiveness and possible side effects.
How do we want to test or collect data?
The trial includes user tests (use of the device), answers to questionnaires, guided interviews and manual measurements via goniometer.
When do we want to test?
The test series will take place from 30.09.21 to 19.11.21. During this time, moderated sessions will be held by the recovics project group from Monday to Thursday. A preparatory event will take place in the week from 27.09. to 01.10.21.
Who can help us?
For patients:
Are you affected by a rheumatic disease or CRPS I in the fingers, older than 18 years and would like to support us in actively participating in product development?
For therapists:
Do you have practical experience and qualified evidence of performing therapeutic manual, passive mobilisation of the hand or fingers and are over 18 years old?
For medical staff:
Do you have a medical qualification and are over 18 years old?
How can you help us?
We need patients who meet the inclusion criteria mentioned above and participate in the 15 examination days of 2-3 hours each. We also need therapists who meet the inclusion criteria mentioned above and take part in a total of 3 examination days of 2-3 hours each. We also need medical staff to supervise the trials as "first aiders".
