Prof Krondorf provides the cover story for the current MDPI Telecommunications Journal with his research results on LEO satellite communication.
The scientific article "Initial Synchronisation Procedure and Doppler Pre-Compensation for LEO-SATCOM Terminals" by Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Marco Krondorf (Chair of Communications Engineering) from the Faculty of Engineering at HTWK Leipzig has been published as a cover story for the current MDPI Telecommunications Journal . The article is dedicated to LEO satellite communication and provides new methods for the time and frequency synchronisation of satellite signals. The abbreviation LEO stands for Low Earth Orbit, i.e. satellite systems in low earth orbit with a maximum flight altitude of 2000 km. The synchronisation problem discussed in the article allows signal adaptation to time-variant Doppler parameters with a very low signal-to-noise ratio and increases the reliability of signal detection through a new type of satellite signal processing.
