HTWK Leipzig students were invited to International Day 2025
Is it worthwhile for me to spend a semester studying or doing an internship abroad? What can I expect there? What does it cost and how do I get a place? At International Day 2025, students reported on their experiences and experienced partners explained what to look out for.
The day of action took place on 21 May 2025 from 12:00 to 16:00 in the foyer of the Nieper Building. Students from all degree programmes were invited by the International Student Services division of the Department of Student Affairs. In addition to the direct exchange of experiences with students, there was also the opportunity to find out more about studying and internships abroad at a range of information stands.
Lectures, information stands, international café with meet & greet and snack & getaway buffet
To kick things off, the LEONARDO OFFICE SACHSENS organised an information event on Erasmus+ internships abroad. This was followed by information on free mover stays, experience reports from HTWK students and DAAD scholarship holders and a presentation on BAföG abroad. A "Meet & Greet" in the international café with students with international experience and incoming students from our partner universities was just one of the numerous offers afterwards. Over delicious specialities from Café Sòley Catering and fresh drinks, the HTWK students were able to chat informally about their experiences and often prepare for upcoming stays abroad. At the information stands and in personal discussions, there was plenty of inspiration and information on all aspects of organisation, financing and various funding opportunities. The LEONARDO-BÜRO SACHSEN, IEC, the HochschulKolleg Foreign Languages and Interculturality Department, GOstralia!-GOmerica! and Edith Cowan University Perth, DAAD ambassadors,WILMA and Techniker Krankenkasse were all on hand to provide advice and support.
The International Student Services staff were delighted to welcome all visitors, regardless of whether they had already planned a stay abroad and wanted to talk to former outgoing students or whether they didn't yet know where they wanted to go and wanted to find out more about the various options. "We welcome all your questions." Many thanks to all participating students and our colleagues from the counselling institutions for their commitment!
If you still have questions about a study-related stay abroad, please feel free to take advantage of our counselling services.
