Simulation of mechatronic systems
Teaching Prof. Dr.-Ing. Detlef Riemer
Objective
The development of simulation models of electromechanical converters with integrated actuator and sensor structures forms the basis for an effective synthesis of mechatronic components and systems. A distinction is made between different levels of description as well as coarse and fine dimensioning. Modern software tools are used for modelling and simulation of practice-relevant mechatronic examples in accompanying exercises.
Focus of the course
- Introduction to the simulation of mechatronic systems
- Basics of model generation
- Simulation methods and their mathematical background
- Mathematical models of mechanical and electrical systems and their coupling with each other
- Simulation of electrostatic and electromagnetic actuators using the FEM simulation system Maxwell
- Optimisation options with regard to the static and dynamic behaviour of selected actuator structures
- Simulation of various mechatronic systems using the ITI-SIM simulation software
