Robotics
Teaching Prof. Dr.-Ing. Detlef Riemer
Objective
This course provides basic knowledge about the structure and functionality of manipulators and robot systems. The functionalities as well as the mathematical description possibilities of specific kinematic structures are dealt with. In addition, various functional elements of industrial and assembly robots, such as drive and sensor systems or gripper mechanisms, are discussed. Control options for robots are also presented.

- Introduction to robotics
- Specifics of robots depending on their areas of application
- Structure and mode of operation of the main robot assemblies
- Fundamentals of robot kinematics
- Mathematical description options for modelling the spatial movement of the kinematic structures of robot systems
- Robot drives
- Design of manipulators and gripper systems in robotics
- Control options for robot systems
