Process data processing
Teaching Prof. Dr.-Ing. Detlef Riemer
Objective
This series of lectures is intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the possibilities and special features of the transmission of digital process signals in particular. Modern technologies of wireless data transmission using Bluetooth systems and remote data transmission of process signals via the Internet on the basis of embedded systems are covered in detail. Security strategies and data encryption methods for secure data transmission are also covered in the course.
Focus of the course
- Introduction to process data processing (definitions, terms)
- Fundamentals of data transmission (transmission media and their special features, line adaptation)
- Data transmission technologies (overview of digital interfaces, bus systems, network topologies)
- Data communication
- Data protocols
- Data management strategies
- Modern, wireless Bluetooth systems
- Embedded systems for remote data transmission via the Internet, e.g. with the aid of miniature web servers
- Security mechanisms / coding methods for data transmission
