Control and Regulation Technology Laboratory
The laboratory has 17 PC workstations and a lecturer’s workstation with a Smartboard (interactive whiteboard). These workstations are equipped with CAE software for the fields of control engineering, modelling and simulation, and PLC programming, including Matlab/Simulink, Maple/MapleSim, LabView, Dymola and CAMeL-View.
Furthermore, the laboratory is equipped with the apparatus required for control engineering experiments, including system models, compact controllers and recorders.
The laboratory is equipped with various test benches for practical sessions and projects in the field of mechatronics. These include the following test benches from Quanser:
- Speed and position control
- Rotating inverted pendulum
- Robotic arm with flexible joint
- Flexible robotic arm
- 2-DOF robot module with gantry
In addition, a converted machine tool with a gantry drive and a CAMeL-View test rig system, as well as other test rigs developed in-house.
Other equipment includes, amongst other things, a stereo camera (Bumblebee) and a colour camera (Marlin), a stereo microscope and additional PC workstations for research and student projects.
