Teaching & Research at the Faculty
Members of the Faculty of Engineering conduct research and teach in the fields of energy, building and environmental engineering, electrical engineering and information technology, and mechanical engineering.
The close link between teaching, research and professional practice characterises engineering studies at our faculty. During their studies, students can gain practical insight into modern professional fields, get to know potential employers whilst still studying, develop their own innovative research projects and help shape the future.
Research and development projects at the faculty’s institutes are often planned and carried out in collaboration with companies and scientific institutions; they are therefore highly interdisciplinary and application-oriented.
The research activities of the Faculty of Engineering focus on the following areas:
- Advanced Materials
- Power & Electronics
- Process Automation & IIoT
- Robotics, Control & AI
- Sensors & Signals
- Smart Design & Simulation
- Smart Energy & Environment
