Incentive awards
As part of the Faculty of Engineering’s graduation ceremony, the top graduates are awarded incentive prizes, such as the Leipzig Energy Prize from Netz Leipzig GmbH. Award winners are required to attend the graduation ceremony in person in order to receive their prizes.
Leipzig Energy Prize
Since 2017, Netz Leipzig GmbH has been awarding the Leipzig Energy Prize to students at HTWK Leipzig for outstanding technical and scientific final-year projects. These theses focus on the energy landscape of tomorrow and address current developments in technologies (e.g. electrolysis, solar, PV, P2H, TAB) or energy grid structures (e.g. smart load control, demand forecasting and energy distribution). Criteria for the award include, amongst other things, the feasibility of implementation, as well as the consideration of economic principles and environmental impacts. The decision is made by the Asset Management department in consultation with the management of Netz Leipzig.
