CAD 1
Teaching Prof. Dr.-Ing. Detlef Riemer
Objective
The CAD 1 course teaches the basics of handling and using the CAD software Mechanical Desktop for the engineering and standardised design representation of technical elements and systems in 2D. This CAD course takes place almost exclusively directly on the computer and serves, among other things, as a basis for further work in 3D visualisation. Practical exercises during the seminar-style lectures are intended to consolidate the material learnt.
Main focus of the course
- General introduction to CAx systems, coordinate systems (WKS, BKS)
- Basic drawing commands (line modifications etc.)
- Drawing organisation (layers, layer management)
- Editing commands (align, move, copy, mirror, trim, chamfer, etc.)
- Complex drawing commands (polyline, polygon, multiline, etc.)
- Complex editing commands (row, stretch, varia, hatch, etc.)
- Text commands (text styles, dynamic text, text modification, etc.)
- Dimensioning (styles, quick dimensioning, dimension variables, etc.)
- Wave generator (introduction to parameterisation)
- Drawing output options (plot style, plot manager, etc.)
- Blocks, specification of surface characters, tolerances, shape/position deviation
