Pupils gain practical insights into 3D printing, robotics and programming in the RoboCreators AG
The RoboCreators, the robotics school laboratory at HTWK Leipzig, can look back on a successful first half of the school year at the Leipzig Model School (LEMO). As part of a co-operation, the RoboCreators offer a weekly working group (AG) in which interested pupils gain practical insights into 3D printing, robotics and programming.
Due to the great response, the cooperation will be continued in the second half of the 2026 school year. The working group is also set to become a permanent and regular part of the programme at the Leipzig model school in the future and contribute to strengthening STEM education in the region in the long term.
Particular emphasis is placed on implementing complete projects in order to promote pupils holistically and give them comprehensive access to technical skills. In recent months, this has included a self-constructed car, a paper plane project and a sensor-operated storage box. These independent projects strengthen technical skills as well as creativity, problem-solving skills, teamwork and project-orientated thinking.
About the Leipzig Model School (LEMO)
The Leipzig Model School is an approved, privately-run alternative school and was opened in 2021 as Saxony's first inclusive community school. The bound all-day school offers a cross-age, integrative learning environment, currently for grades 1 to 10 and from the next school year up to the Abitur level. Work is carried out in core groups in which the pupils learn, research and work creatively together.
